Winter Basketball registration will open on August 21, 2014 for both recreational and travel basketball, and will close on September 22, 2014. The 2014-15 recreational coaches application will open on August 21 as well.

Here are important dates for the 2014-15 winter recreational basketball season. 

• August 22nd registration opens
• September 22nd registration closes, and wait list is opened
• October 27-November 7th player evaluations for participants in grades 2nd-5th. Specific schedule and locations will be posted mid October. As a reminder there are no player evaluations for players who are in 6-12th grade. 
• December 1, 2014 practices begin 
• January 10, 2015  games begin 
• March 1st, 2015 end of regular season (Divisions 9th and up will finish 2/22) 
• ​March 4, 2015 single elimination tournament begins   (Divisions 9th and up will begin 2/25) 
• Championship Saturday for divisions 2nd-8th will be March 14, 2015  (Divisions 9th grade and up will play 3/7) 
• ​All-star Sunday March 15, 2015 for all divisions

Timeframes for the upcoming 2014-2015 Winter Basketball Travel Season:

-August:  Accept applications to volunteer as a head coach

-September:  Finalize head coach selections

-early-October:  Travel try-outs

-mid-October and on:  Begin practice & game competition.

As a reminder, Gainesville fields teams for boys and girls in the 5th thru 8th grades.  4th graders can try out for 5th grade teams.  Most grades field two teams each.
